Michael K. Sapp has practiced in the areas of tax law, estate planning and asset protection for over 30 years. Mr. Sapp obtained his law degree with honors from the University of Florida in 1975. In 1977, Mr. Sapp went on to further his tax training and obtained his LL.M, with Honors, from the University of Florida. Upon graduation in 1975, Mr. Sapp was one of five students selected nationally to work for the United States Tax Court in Washington, D.C., as a law clerk. While working at the Tax Court, Mr. Sapp learned the techniques utilized by the Internal Revenue Service to prosecute taxpayers. This experience has served Mr. Sapp well through-out his career.
Mr. Sapp began his active practice of law with a large, well-known tax firm in Tampa, Florida. Later Mr. Sapp returned to Jacksonville, Florida, his hometown, and started his own firm in 1984. Mr. Sapp's firm grew to 18 lawyers before he moved to Atlanta in 1995 to be close to his children.
Mr. Sapp is a retired member of the Florida Bar in good standing, and works as an advocate, active on staff expert and counselor for THE ADAMS LAW OFFICES, LLC, and assists clients from beginning to end in all matters of estate planning and federal and state taxation. Mr. Sapp's past experience and expertise includes estate planning and asset protection planning, corporate taxation, partnership taxation, deferred compensation, real estate taxation, international taxation, and representation against the Internal Revenue Service.
Mr. Sapp has been a frequent speaker in estate planning seminars and particularly in the use of techniques for setting up and implementing effective estate planning, wealth transfer during life and upon death to the next generation, business succession planning and the effective use of life insurance as an estate planning tool. Mr. Sapp has over given our fifty Presentations during his career.
